Take Lovely Underwater Photo with a Waterproof Disposable Camera

Having that long awaited holiday at the Bahamas? Or at another tropical island beach? It would be great to take plenty of pictures to capture your vacation memories. Better yet, capture the pictures of you frolicking with the fishes underwater. The drawback is that you can’t use your regular camera (you’ll end up ruining it as most cameras are not designed for underwater use) and a good underwater camera can cost quite a pretty penny, especially if you’ll only be using it just this once.

A disposable underwater camera is an excellent tool for capturing memories you spent swimming at frolicking with the fishes of the sea. However, there are some things you should be careful about so that you only get the best underwater photos:

-          Fractured light and water compression. Remember that water refracts (bends) as well as compresses light. It is important that you get film that is suitable for these conditions so that your pictures will not be blurry.

-          Heat condensation. The camera will react to different temperatures and environments. For instance, if the air is warmer while the water is cool, there may be condensation on the surface of the lens. Thus, avoid exposing the camera to the warm air.

-          Depth of the water. Some disposable underwater camera will work only up to specific depths – any lower than that and you will not be getting high-quality pictures.

-          The pictures will have a blue tint. This is because the water does not allow red light to pass through.

-          Absence of flash. Be mindful that there is no flash for most disposable underwater cameras, so be sure to take pictures when there is enough light to allow you to do so.

-          Beware of xray machines. After you have taken pictures, remember not to pass these through the xray machines at the airport. It’s best to have the pictures developed before you leave.
